Does your child struggle with reading or spelling?

Help is Here

I offer one-on-one tutoring online or in person from my home-office in Kedron, North Brisbane. I provide the tools your bright, but struggling, child needs to confidently approach reading and spelling in a new way.

My approach is to use proven methods to teach reading and spelling rules in a way that makes sense. If you aren’t quite sure what to look for in a tutor that specialises in dyslexia, that’s ok. For those of you who have been given some recommendations in what to look for, I’d like to let you know that my approach is:

  • structured

  • multisensory

  • explicit

  • sequential

  • and cumulative.

Some of the newer terms that encapsulate my approach are ‘Structured Literacy’, ‘The Science of Reading’, ‘Synthetic Phonics’ and MSL which stands for Multisensory Structured Language.

This approach takes the guesswork out so that reading and spelling becomes a logical, tear-free process.

There comes a point

when many dyslexic children realise there is a gap between their reading and writing skills and the skills of their peers. They (or you) may not even know if they have dyslexia, but they do wonder why spelling is harder for them than for others.  When your child is ready to have reading and spelling rules THAT MAKE SENSE explained to them clearly; rules that build upon one another in a sequential, cumulative program and use multisensory techniques that help the learning ‘stick’, contact me to see how I can help.
